Five Air Force Refueling Planes Hit in Iranian Strike on Saudi Arabia

The news reports that five U.S. Air Force refueling planes were hit and damaged during an Iranian missile attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The attack reportedly struck the planes while they were on the ground. The aircraft were damaged but not completely destroyed, and they are currently undergoing repairs. No deaths or serious injuries have been reported so far.

These refueling planes are critical for long-range military operations because they refuel other aircraft in mid-air, allowing fighter jets and bombers to remain airborne longer without returning to base. Damage to them can significantly affect U.S. air operations and logistics in the region.

This incident is part of a broader escalation between Iran and U.S./allied forces in the Middle East following recent tensions.
